Are You Compliant?
As of 15th June 2022, any new build residential dwellings that start the building control process will require compliance with Approved Document O: Overheating.
The Approved document sets out 2 methods for achieving compliance.
- The simplified method
- Thermal dynamic modelling
Our software provides a user-friendly intuitive interface through which designers, architects and project managers can carry out overheating calculations using the simplified method.
Once all property parameters have been entered you can run the calculation which will simply determine if your property passes or fails.
A simple to understand, fully compliant report is generated which can be submitted to Building Controls to demonstrate your compliance.
If the simplified method produces a fail, and the original design can not be adapted to achieve compliance, then a TM59 compliance report utilising approved thermal dynamic modelling will be needed. In such circumstances, please contact us to receive a quote for these services.
Security, noise or pollution issues
One of the questions asked as part of the calculations is:
“Are there any security, noise or pollution issues?”
If the answer to the above is Yes or you are unsure and you haven’t had a noise survey carried out, please contact us to receive a quote for these services.
In order to carry out the calculations you will need
- The Area of each room in the property
- Awareness of the façade orientation of the property
- The length, width and opening angle of each window in the property
